You say Crayfish...I say Crawfish.

Ikea is celebrating and I can't help but join in...

As summer is in full bloom ~

the Swedes get ready to party!

The "kraftskiva" (crayfish party) usually held in August, is one of the most

important social events in Sweden. Friends gather to feast on crayfish while
wearing funny hats, singing drinking-songs and drinking snaps. So during
crayfish party, you will hear joyful laughter and singing from balconies,
verandas, and gardens all across Sweden - until way after midnight.

It's a grilled cheese and soup kind of day

Minus the fact that it us likely 90 degrees and 100% humidity in HK. So, instead of hot, I'm thinking cold.

Homemade pimiento cheese sandwiches and cold potato soup, aka Vichyssoise.

No jars of ready to go pimientos here, so I'll be roasting red peppers on my own, grading cheese on my own, luckily, mayo is readily available as well as garlic salt. So off I go.

Sweet Tooth at LGB

We indulged... Pistachio and salted caramel macaroons. Is this Paris or Hong Kong? Another plus to living abroad.

LGB was the pioneer in Hong Kong in introducing to the city the delightful Parisian Macaron. These delicate pastries, famous in Paris since the early 1900's, are unique in their delicate texture, beautiful colors and form, and exquisite flavors, making them the perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of tea, or hot chocolate. LGB presents an unprecedented collection of over a dozen distinctive flavors such as "Rose", "Bitter Chocolate", and "Coffee with Salted Caramel". Due to the special knowledge required in creating this fragile pastry, the authentic Parisian Macaron has not previously been available outside of Paris, New York and Tokyo until now.

Living abroad is not always easy or fun, but the travel that comes from living in Asia is worth all the hassles...but no matter where you live, getting to Bora Bora is not easy. We can dream though, can't we? This is one amazing hotel, The Four Seasons Bora Bora. I hope I can get there soon. Like for my birthday in August soon.....wouldn't it be nice?
